On July 8 and 9, the Scienza Nuova Institute at the University of Turin will host the second edition of TURIN Meets ECNU – Sustainability, Webfare, and the Digital Age: A European-Chinese Dialogue, an initiative aimed at promoting scientific dialogue between the University of Turin and East China Normal University (ECNU) on the topics of sustainability, digital transformation, and Webfare.

Through a program divided into five thematic sessions, the conference will bring together scholars from various disciplines to explore the philosophical, social, technological, and political implications of the transformations currently underway. The presentations will address issues such as the impact of artificial intelligence on contemporary societies, data governance, urban and food sustainability, new forms of digital cooperation, intergenerational responsibility, civic education, and the role of technology in building sustainable development models.

The initiative aims to strengthen academic collaboration between European and Chinese institutions, fostering interdisciplinary dialogue on some of the major global challenges of our time and contributing to the development of shared perspectives for a digital transition focused on collective well-being and sustainability.
